Calista Davidson, owner of Moe’s Package Liquor in Marshall, purchased the Main Street Supper Club, formerly owned by Steve Boyer and Jo Beard, in November 2022. She then replaced the wiring and plumbing throughout the building, repaired the roof and placed a new suspended ceiling in the back of the building.

She also remodeled the dining area, gave the restaurant/bar a western theme and opened in February.

Calista dedicated the building to her mother Terri, who was a bartender throughout her adult life and who loved horses. There are pictures near the front of the restaurant in which Terri is riding horses. There is also a picture of the barn that stood on the English farm when Terri was growing up.

Keeping with the western theme, Calista hired Robert Fitzjarrald to make wooden benches for the restaurant/bar. He also made saloon doors for the rear of the dining area and created the woodwork for the bathrooms.

Mamas Mending created cowhide print cushions for the new benches.

Also in the western motif is a selfie bench and hanging above it is Terri’s saddlebag and a cowboy hat worn by Mickey Gilley.

There are also horse pictures of Calista’s brother John Kuhn and his wife Anna, an award-winning equestrian rider.

The old kitchen was stripped down to the studs and is now being used for storage. A new full kitchen is being installed in the back of the building and should be completed by the end of the summer.

Moes offers hamburgers, Monical’s pizza, pulled pork and pulled pork nachos, quesadillas and grilled cheese sandwiches, an assortment of appetizers, including fried mushrooms, French fries, tots, onion petals, crab rangoon and loaded tots and fries. There are daily specials 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Moes offers a full bar with a wide assortment of beer, wine and spirits of all price ranges. There is a happy hour 4-7 p.m. Monday - Thursday. There are signature drinks named after Calista’s mother and various other family members.

Moes features live music by area musicians every other weekend. Tomorrow, June 10, country musician TylerTrueblood of Terre Haute will perform 8-11 p.m.

Other performers who have been featured recently include Mitch Faulkner, Abbi Scott, Zack Edington, Lance Shaffner and Dickie James.

On June 23, Moes will host a celebrity bartending night with all the tips going to the Marshall Schools Foundation. Calista will match this amount.

Moes is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to midnight and is closed on Sundays.
